Origin:
This clone nominated: “Late of March” comes from an orchard in Dar Essalam - Rabat.
 
Description:
Tree: With a stretched port, of a medium vigour, a thick branching and the colour of the wood is of a dark brown.

Leaves: Entire with a thin leaf-stem, a lanceolate shape, large and dark green.

Flowering: Axillary, cluster of a light aroma. It is late in comparison with the normal clementine.

Fruits: They often present themselves in cluster of several fruits, as well inside as outside of the tree. Of a round shape, slightly flattened, they are of a medium to big size, with a superficial chalice, a hollow apex, an areola slightly apparent and the styllaire scar is small. The skin is rough, fairly thick and is easily peeled. The pulp is fairly textured, its colour is orange, it’s juice is abundant, sweet and of a pleasant aroma.

Maturity: Too late, it is achieved at the beginning of December when the fruits start showing of. The colouring is completed by mid January with some green marks, which remain till the month of February.

Seeds:  Do not exist in isolated cultures.

Production: It is distinguished by an homogeneity in the sizes (90% of the production is size 1 to 4). We have to mention an alternation in the production well noticed depending on the years. The fruits are sensitive to puffiness.
  

Compatibility with rootstocks:
Bigaradier: Excellent compatibility

Citrange (Troyer, Carrizo): Appearance of a bottle pebble more or less visible at the grafting point. Citranges confer a certain precocity as opposed to bigaradier.
  

Crop surface:
Limited to certain regions such as Souss and Berkane.
